contest blues

Well! I haven't even placed in one of the contests I've entered, yet. I know I'm knew at this & of course I'm just starting out in the design business, but wow, rejection still hurts. My business is moving along slowly, well, actually I'm moving along slowly. Life keeps getting in the way. My health, money, transportation, yada yada yada. But, I keep on keepin on & maybe I might just get an honorable mention sometime soon in one of these contests. I'm doing what I can to get my name out there. Tommorrow I go to greeters from the Chamber of Commerce & I'm nervous, I don't do well in front of strangers & of course, Mom has been really pumpin up my jewelry. EEEE! Sorry, I had to yell I know I'll be ok, just gotta get up there & do it that's what they say. So, that's it for now. Let you all know how I did soon.

LABOR DAY!

Wellllll! I'm back sure haven't been keeping up with this blog. I just can't seem to remember I need to do something here at least weekly. But, life enterfers and then the memory goes & I can't even call it oldtimer's disease, yet, I think anyway.

So, it's Labor Day Weekend already! My summer just disappeared on my. I have entered a few contests. Haven't won anything , yet, but i keep on tyring and maybe I will.

I went to a few sale events & didn't do great, but I didn't lose money.

Gotta go my puppies wanting attention.

It has been a longggggg time I know. I'm very sorry. I've been feeling very sorry for myself and have been neglecting a few things I should be keeping up on. Here's what's been going on. I have brochial asthma and I live in a valley that has an air pollution problem and at times in the winter it gets very bad. Sooo, needless to say I came down with acute severe bronchitis. The Dr. gives me prednisone(a steriod) that drives me bonkers, makes me depressed (you get the picture). It also causes my immune system to become deficient - that's right - I get sick whenever I come in contact with someone else who is sick. So I have to stay shut up with no company unless you are positive you are not contagious. I have been sick forever!!!!!!

I have done some wirework and I'll try to get some pics up.

I can't promise I'll do better, but I will try.

What a month!

Well, life does come at you. I had a trip to the er and have been out of commission for a couple of weeks now but I'm recovering just fine. I have bronchial asthma and wound up with acute bronchitis. It's the air in this valley, especially in the winter. So, needless to say I had to cancel my open house. I am giving a class - Wire Wrapping 101 - on Dec. 14th my first class ever. I'll keep you up to date on that. I've been brainstorming and have come up with approximately five more classes that I'm going to offer soon. I've been playing around with the idea of seeing if there is a wire wrapping group here or starting one up if there isn't, thats later. The class at the rock museum is still on also, that one is on Dec. 20th I'll be teaching the herringbone wrap with beads. Well, I've been on the computer too long I gotta share with the next person, hehehe.

I hope everyone is enjoying the spirit of the times and keeping it simple.

December Crazy!

Hi everybody,
Just thought I should talk a little bit about what I have on my plate for December, besides the holiday madness. You know shopping, picking the right gift for everyone, returning the wrong gift, oh yeah, and more shopping. Then of course there's Christmas Cards, of which I am horrible at. Maybe this year I can write up one of those Christmas letters I get and actually get them posted, tee hee.
Sooo. The first weekend in December, besides volunteering at our local rock museum (Crater Rock Museum), I will be having my first open house show for Christil Creations. On Saturday, Dec. 10th I am giving my first wire wrapping class and then on Saturday, December 20th I am giving another class for Roxy Anne Gem & Mineral Society. I haven't decided yet what I'm teaching on the 10th, but on the 20th I'm teaching the Herringbone Wrap. I've already got people chomping at the bit so wish me luck.
Also, I have two people who want commission pieces.
Lucky for me I have no shows or bazaars for this month because I think I'm going to be pretty busy! I'm not sure if I'll be posting until after turkey day since I'm setting up for the open house so
